Estat\u00edstica (IBGE) mostram que cerca de 47% dos adultos brasileiros s\u00e3o considerados sedent\u00e1rios, ou seja, n\u00e3o alcan\u00e7am os n\u00edveis de atividade f\u00edsica recomendados pela Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Mundial da Sa\u00fade (OMS), que sugere 150 minutos de atividade moderada por semana ou o equivalente em intensidade vigorosa. Entre os jovens, o cen\u00e1rio \u00e9 ainda mais grave: at\u00e9 84% est\u00e3o inativos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<p>Esses n\u00fameros colocam o Brasil entre os pa\u00edses com maior preval\u00eancia de sedentarismo na Am\u00e9rica Latina e entre os principais no ranking mundial.\u00a0 A OMS tamb\u00e9m estima que mais de 1,8 bilh\u00e3o de adultos no mundo s\u00e3o sedent\u00e1rios, representando cerca de 31% da popula\u00e7\u00e3o adulta global.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<p>O sedentarismo vai muito al\u00e9m de \u201cfalta de exerc\u00edcio\u201d, trata-se de um comportamento que aumenta o risco de doen\u00e7as cr\u00f4nicas, compromete a sa\u00fade mental e reduz a qualidade de vida. \u201cO sedentarismo \u00e9 um dos principais fatores de risco para doen\u00e7as metab\u00f3licas e\u00a0<strong>desequil\u00edbrios hormonais.\u00a0<\/strong>A falta de atividade f\u00edsica ativa processos inflamat\u00f3rios no organismo e est\u00e1 associada ao aumento de peso e resist\u00eancia \u00e0 insulina\u201d, alerta a Dra. Alana Rocha Puppim, professora de endocrinologia da Afya Vit\u00f3ria.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<h2>Impactos do sedentarismo na sa\u00fade<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<p>Segundo a Dra. Alana Rocha Puppim, o corpo humano nasceu para o movimento, e as pessoas necessitam da atividade f\u00edsica para o funcionamento adequado de todos os \u00f3rg\u00e3os e sistemas. Quando o movimento deixa de fazer parte da rotina, h\u00e1 repercuss\u00f5es negativas no metabolismo, na regula\u00e7\u00e3o hormonal, na capacidade cognitiva e no controle de doen\u00e7as cr\u00f4nicas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<p>Do ponto de vista cardiovascular, o sedentarismo tem consequ\u00eancias bem estabelecidas. \u201cA atividade f\u00edsica regular \u00e9 um dos pilares da preven\u00e7\u00e3o cardiovascular. Quando ela falta, o organismo tende a desenvolver uma s\u00e9rie de altera\u00e7\u00f5es metab\u00f3licas e hemodin\u00e2micas que aumentam o risco de doen\u00e7a card\u00edaca\u201d, explica a Dra. Rosangeles Konrad, m\u00e9dica e professora da p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em cardiologia da Afya Bras\u00edlia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<p>Para o Dr. Raul Oliveira,\u00a0 professor da gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Fisioterapia da Afya Centro Universit\u00e1rio de Itaperuna, o sedentarismo tem impacto direto sobre o sistema musculoesquel\u00e9tico e sobre a funcionalidade do corpo, comprometendo estruturas importantes respons\u00e1veis pela<strong>\u00a0sustenta\u00e7\u00e3o e mobilidade.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<p>\u201cQuando n\u00e3o nos movimentamos regularmente, h\u00e1 perda de for\u00e7a muscular, redu\u00e7\u00e3o da flexibilidade e maior propens\u00e3o ao desenvolvimento de dores cr\u00f4nicas, especialmente na coluna, quadris e joelhos\u201d, explica.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<h2><strong>Atividade f\u00edsica beneficia a sa\u00fade mental<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<p>Al\u00e9m dos efeitos f\u00edsicos, o comportamento sedent\u00e1rio tamb\u00e9m pode impactar diretamente o bem-estar mental. Segundo o Dr. Rodrigo Schettino, professor da p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em psiquiatria da Afya Itaperuna, n\u00edveis baixos de atividade f\u00edsica est\u00e3o associados a maiores taxas de ansiedade e depress\u00e3o. \u201cO movimento regular libera endorfinas, melhora a autoestima e contribui para a regula\u00e7\u00e3o emocional\u201d, explica.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<p>O especialista destaca ainda que a pr\u00e1tica regular de exerc\u00edcios pode ter efeitos significativos na sa\u00fade mental. \u201cEm muitos casos, o exerc\u00edcio f\u00edsico apresenta impacto compar\u00e1vel ao da psicoterapia na redu\u00e7\u00e3o de sintomas ansiosos e depressivos leves a moderados\u201d, afirma.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paragraph\">\n<p>Ele ressalta, no entanto, que quadros mais graves, como depress\u00e3o moderada a grave, transtorno bipolar e esquizofrenia, exigem tratamento medicamentoso priorit\u00e1rio.
